I thought I'd post some stats from my ride today, because I've gotten used to the route from my house to the Washington & Old Dominion trail, and I've also been on my bike quite a bit more recently. I've at least gotten on my bike and ridden some short distance each day this week, and it really seemed to make a difference in how I felt on this slightly longer ride.
I now know how to reset my cyclometer, so I have some more accurate info to report. The one way trip is only 7.0 mi. Today it took 35:35, which is a 10 minute improvement over last time. Avg. speed 12.6mph. Highest speed reached was 26mph. What was yours Todd? I'm trying to beat it. That was just on a small hill so I think I'm totally going to obliterate your number. :-)
Also, I think my next goal will be to make it in 30 minutes, which is completely doable because I did the ride this morning with only the fuel of a piece of dessert pizza. All I have to do is make the simple change of switching over to some kind of nasty breakfast cereal like Wheaties and I'll be good to go. Maybe a little bit of Gatorade too, just to be sure.
